The Comfort of Love

Are you comforted by being loved?

Verse of the Day

‘Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant.’

Psalms 119:76

Today’s Devotional

As I read this verse, I am asking the Lord:

“Father, how do I allow your love to comfort me?”

And here’s what it feels like He is saying:

“By believing that I do, in fact, love you.  Take a deep breath. Everything that is causing you to feel burdened I can handle.  None of that is hard for me.  Take another deep breath.  Breathe in my love for you.  It takes faith to believe that I love you. This is why I love for you to slow down.  To be still and know that I am God.  Because as God, I love you.  I delight in you, to the point that you make me smile and sing. Ask for my help to believe that. Take another deep breath, and as your lungs are full allow yourself to feel my loving arms around you. You are so very precious to me.”

For today, that is enough.  Father, help us to believe in your extravagant love. And give us the faith to allow your love to comfort us today.
